Congress Sold Out To The NRA!

I am going to start this blog by repeating some information from my first blog about Gun Control!

Two decades have passed since former President Clinton made political history by getting Congress to pass a ban on assault weapons in 1994. Congress failed to renew the ban in 2004. The very fact that Congress passed a ban on assault weapons completely eliminates the NRA's argument that it violates their Second Amendment rights.

The Assault Weapons Ban failed to be reinstated under the watch of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. Although Bush stated publicly that he was for banning Assault Weapons, privately both he and Chaney were extreme Pro War, Pro Gun supporters. Congress as usual put politics before doing what was right. Their political careers were being threatened by the NRA if they passed Gun Control legislation. Other succumbed to the monetary incentives from the NRA, their Lobbyists, gun manufacturers, and other special interest groups. In other words they sold out to the rich just like they are doing today!

This chart is extremely important for it established a time line showing exactly when the NRA began it's sinister and diabolical plan to take over Congress. In 1982 murders from automatic assault weapons were beginning to increase. The NRA was aware on this and in 2003 they began implementing their plans to take over Congress. To do this they had to identify the members of Congress that were sympathetic to their cause and to also identify the members of Congress that were against them.

They devised a rating system (hit list) for every member of Congress based upon their historical voting records on Gun Control and by their responses to a questionnaire that they sent to every member of Congress. Once they had this information they created a database of Pro Gun and Anti Gun legislators in Congress. Every member was given a rating from A through F. A was for Pro Gun and F was for Anti Gun politicians.

Money is power! It is easy to track the money sources of the NRA. It has a paid membership of four million gun owners, it is supported by gun sellers and gun manufacturers! They have a army of lobbyists that bombard, bribe, and threaten the Pro Gun members of Congress to buy and insure their votes against any and all Gun Control Legislation. Again “MONEY IS POWER”, the power to buy votes, the power to insure the re-election of Pro Gun politicians, and to remove them from office if they don't co-operate! It is a WIN/WIN situation for those that cooperate and a WIN/WIN situation for the NRA! They know that corruption saturates Congress, all they have to do is grease the palms of the right people with a little money!

84% of the Republicans received an “A” Rating! 18% of the Democrats received a 'A” Rating.  4% of the Republicans received an “F” rating, and 68% of the Democrats received an “F” rating.  It is extremely clear that the Republican Party has sold America out to the NRA!  Once again they have sold America out to the Super Rich and Powerful Self Interest Groups just so they can line their own pockets with more wealth while they are in office!

Most of you know that I do not put anything in my blogs that has not been researched thoroughly. The information for this blog came from an extremely detailed and credible site “On The Issues.Org”. They in turn got their information directly off the NRA Website. I will give a direct link to “On The Issues.org” website at the end of this article. What follows next is a complete list of every Congressional member on the original "HIT" list compiled by the NRA. Although it is a little outdated and appears to have been updated somewhat by "On the Issues" it is good enough to allow you to see almost everyone in Congress that are in the pockets of the NRA.
